Sound

Sound 
Diegetic Sound: 
A sound which can be paired with what is happening in a film or on TV, and is either visible, or is relevant to the action. 
Non-diegetic: 
This means a sound that cannot be seen on screen, nor has any direct relevance. 
Dialogue: 
The words and conversations spoken by characters to each other. The use of dialogue makes it easier for the audience to understand the concept of the film and its storyline. 
Voice-over: 
A technique in which an actor reads lines, but is not shown speaking the lines in the video stream. 
Soundtrack: 
This is the music that plays in the background and helps set a mood amongst the audience during an intimidating or overwhelming scene making it more interesting for the audience to watch. 
Ambient sound: 
A type of atmospheric electronic music that ranges from calm, soothing, dark, or psychedelic. This adds to the atmosphere of the scene happening creating a mood.
