Genre

Genre
Genre refers to the term for any category based on some set of stylistic criteria. Genres are formed by conventions differ over time as new genres are invented and the old ones are discontinued. Every genre has its own codes and convention which are to be followed for that genre.
There are many different types of genres such as; comedy, thriller, horror, action-adventure etc. Comedy genre consists of light and humorous characters with a happy or cheerful ending. In a dramatic environment its the sense of humour in the things being said and displayed which conclude in a successful rather happy ending.

Another type of genre is thriller. Thriller genre uses tension, suspense and excitement as its main elements. Thriller really changes the mood of the audience, giving them high anticipation, high-expectations, uncertainty, anxiety and terror. Thriller has many sub-genres; suspense thriller, psychologist thriller, crime thriller. all the movies that come under thriller genre either end up with a mystery being solved or a crime being committed.

One of the other main genre is horror. Horror genre seeks to achieve a negative emotional reaction from the viewers by playing with the audience's primal fears.

Action genre is a film genre in which one or more protagonists are thrust into a series of challenges that typical include fighting the antagonist, there is a lot of violence and frantic chases.
